THE SUBLIME

THE SCULPTURE AT THE END OF THE GOLDEN XV CENTURY

Great painters like Giorgione, Titian, Cima da Conegliano and Veronese have codified the “Venetian landscape” since the sixteenth century. We find it constantly in the background of the pictures of the great Venetian painting. The extraordinary variety of nature, abundance of water, the succession of plains and hills, the chromatic movement of the earth and the sky in the changes of the seasons, human settlements, the type of crops, agricultural geometries, all combine to define an environment sweet and mellow. Supremely poetic, highly photogenic. Today, the Veneto -in better or for worse is a region densely populated and built, and is the second Italian region after Lombardy for cementing soil. Urban centers have lengthened along main roads, creating a continuum of buildings. The same campaign has partly degraded in the evolution of the agriculture industry and the disappearance of traditional rural architecture. If you only get out of the urban centers, the Venetian landscape is still there.
